Your first car selection in GTA Online is vitally important. Though you may hijack and steal cars at will, stolen vehicles do not remain under your control between sessions without the attachment of a Tracker. If you're one of the lucky few who can get online, here's what you need to know. EditWhen Should I Start Looking? After completing your first race with Lamar and completing the opening job, you'll be prompted to make a visit to Los Santos Customs. Get an Awesome Free Car in GTA Online When you receive this message, it's time to start looking around for your first car. Whatever vehicle you drive through the doors of the chop shop will be your long-term default Vehicle. You have all the time in the world, as long as you don't enter the shop, so don't fret about rushing your choice. EditWhat Kind of Vehicle Should I Choose? Vehicle preference is subjective, but you should consider a couple of factors before making a decision. First, how skilled a driver are you? This is a reflection not just on your gameplay prowess, but on your character's Stats. Your Driving stat has a direct effect on car control, and with a lower Driving skill, you'll want to be careful about vehicles with poor handling and traction. Want to pick your perfect ride? Check out IGN's complete Vehicle list for comparisons of every car on the road. Second, what kind of Vehicle fits your style? It's a social game after all, and practicality sometimes comes second to flash. Choose a ride that fits your online persona. Finally, remember that not every vehicle you spot is eligible. Certain cars are reserved for higher Ranks or purchase, and you can't select service vehicles. If the game reports that a ride is Too Hot, you'll have to leave it for now. EditWhat Happens Once You Make Your Choice? Follow the map prompt to Los Santos Customs. There you'll be able to equip your car with two vital upgrades: a Tracker and an Insurance policy. A Tracker lets you find your car even if it is taken by another player. It marks a Vehicle as your permanent property and helps protect it against loss. An Insurance Policy protects your car against damage or destruction. It allows you to replace the Vehicle with an identical model in the event of a mishap. EditWhat Now? Now that you've got that ride, resist the urge to buy expensive upgrades. Save your cash for a new Micro SMG, and be sure to check out our Community Tips page for more info.

Nah, he's just really good. He's a full time youtuber and streamer of GTA, and he has pretty much only done racing for 8-10 hours every day, for the past three years the game has been out. He's the head of the popular racing crew NODO, and they frequently arrange tournament style racing events and other professional outings where they obey strict, realistic racing guidelines, like taking mandatory pitstops and not ramming into other cars.

Best Supers are the RE-7B, Tempesta, and Nero. Seven70 is the best all-round sports car because it turns well and the top speed is quite high, I believe.
best sports car gta 5 7

so what happened with X80's performance to be beat by the Tempesta and Nero Custom? oh and wtf the Zentorno is faster now, wth happened with the downforce added in game/changes to it things changed a bit in favor of zentorno. But i would say the same as previous poster, look at the top5 of supers or top10 in sports and just use the car u can adapt best to its handling/driving style cause they are all in very close range and will perfom sure best if you master them. Zentorno might be #3 in laptimes in supers but u have to master him first, he aint easy like the nero in handling who is bit more forgiving. But u gotta check urself what fits you like a glove.

The Elegy RH8 is only the best for Sports-class racing when high top speed isn't required, and if you can control the car. Even Broughy himself says that the Elegy RH8 can be difficult to master, and he suggests that if you cannot master it, there are other cars that would suit you better. You can't just look at his results. You have to actually watch his videos and listen to what he says.

I still win plenty of races with my Zentorno. Thinking about getting a Nero custom, but it's so damn ugly. I do great in races with my Elegy RH8. A lot of people think it's slow because it's free, but I still think it's the best overall sports car.

ShwaSan 7 points8 points9 points 2 months ago (4 children)This explains why I've been getting personal best lap times for stunt races in my Specter Custom. Insane high speed traction from its downforce combined with one of the higher top speeds of its class is the answer. It doesn't do nearly as well at lower speed corners such as the ones in Cutting Corners (Broughy's lap time test track), hence its so-so ranking in his lap time list. Try it out folks. permalinkembedsavereportgive goldreplyxiaoxiaoman92Pegassi Aficionado 5 points6 points7 points 2 months ago (3 children)Yeah, Cutting Coroners GP should never be taken as strict fact since is main purpose is to test cars in a variety of situations; straights, turns, chicanes, hairpins, etc. The lap times are only ever meant as guidelines. What car works best for a given situation depends on the track, conditions, and driver preference. It would be neat to have stunt track testing, but Cutting Coroners GP serves as a worthwhile testing ground nonetheless. It's a good track to see where vehicles excel and where they fall short. Different strokes for different folks, your mileage may vary. permalinkembedsaveparentreportgive goldreplyBelgarel 1 point2 points3 points 2 months ago (1 child)Stunt track tests are almost just acceleration / top speed. I'm thinking of doing that testing for PC but I need funds for an X80. permalinkembedsaveparentreportgive goldreplyShwaSan 1 point2 points3 points 2 months ago (0 children)I've been doing hotlapping on PC. I find the X80 is definitely very competitive but on most tracks I've been getting the best times in the Nero (standard) or 7B. Tbh although I really like the X80 I don't think it's great for racing since it's sooo touchy. Although my best laps are within a few tenths of the Nero (plus or minus), it's a lot harder to get them. Testing is incomplete (lots of races, lots of cars) but on most supers tracks I've tested the Nero, X80, and Itali Custom, and I'm working on adding the 7B, Zentorno, and 900R (which does surprisingly poorly). permalinkembedsaveparentreportgive goldreplyroidetective 0 points1 point2 points 2 months ago (0 children)I agree. I have about 4,000 races recorded and I've learned to use different cars for different tracks. Like Plummet. Unless I get wiped out more than 2 times I'll win every time with my RE-7B. They will smoke me during the first half. The second half of the race is when I blow by everyone because of the handling. Especially no contact or catch-up/slip stream off. permalinkembedsaveparentreportgive goldreply
